ssc-headerStaunton Senior Center’s local council discussed a number of items at its recent meeting.

Members chose which committee they wanted to work on, as well as deciding that there would be no December meeting, as it is so close to the Christmas holiday.

Center director Lynn Harris updated members on the most recent financial report of donations from center members and others, as well as a close to final balance of the Center being under budget. She also gave a fall dance summary, notice about the upcoming bazaar and an introduction to board recruitment.

This last subject will take most of the next local council meeting in November.

Finally, Shelley Bryant gave an update on the “boomtown” project tentatively titled “In the Mean Time,” which aims to develop a paying membership for very active older adults in Staunton and western Augusta County.
