Staunton Senior Center Local Council Meets

AFP

sscDue to bad weather, the Staunton Senior Center local council had to postpone its monthly meeting until Jan. 31.

At that time, the council met to discuss upcoming special events including the Volunteer Appreciation Party April 7, Elder Abuse Awareness week starting June 10 and the fall dance, Sept. 28. Tracy Pyles is now the Augusta County Supervisor’s representative to the LC, replacing David Karaffa – whose help in last fall’s dance we greatly appreciate. Finally, Connie Birch suggested there be more outreach to residents in the apartments above the Center – Gypsy Hill Place. Lynn Harris, center director, agreed and will check into the monthly meet-and-greets.

The next meeting is Thursday, Feb. 21 at 4 p.m. in the Center.
