Staunton schools offering Summer Food Service Program

staunton virginiaStaunton City Schools is once again participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children ages 2 to 18 years without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.

There will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. The program is funded by the USDA and administered by the VDOE Department of Nutrition Services. Meals will be provided at a first come, first served basis at the sites and times listed below:

Beginning June 4 Through July 27 (no meal service July 4, 2018) The following sites are open to public walk-ins ages 2 to 18 years.

  • Bessie Weller Elementary School — Monday-Friday 600 Greenville Avenue, Staunton, VA 24401 Breakfast 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., Lunch 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Elizabeth Miller Gardens — Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 900 Elizabeth Miller Gardens, Staunton, VA 24401 Lunch 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Farrier Court — Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 100 Farrier Court, Staunton, VA 24401 Lunch 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Frontier Ridge Apartments — Tuesday, Friday 20 Frontier Ridge Court, Staunton, VA 24401 Lunch 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.
  • Gypsy Hill Park Garden Center — Monday-Friday 600 Churchville Avenue, Staunton, VA 24401 Lunch 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
  • Gypsy Hill Park Gym — Monday-Friday 600 Churchville Avenue, Building #247, Staunton, VA 24401 Lunch 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
  • T. C. McSwain Elementary School — Monday-Friday 1101 N. Coalter Street, Staunton, VA 24401 Breakfast 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Lunch 12:15 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Montgomery Hall Park — Monday-Friday 1000 Montgomery Avenue, Staunton, VA 24401 Lunch 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Shelburne Middle School — Monday-Friday 300 Grubert Avenue, Staunton, VA 24401 Breakfast 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Lunch 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • A. R. Ware Elementary School — Monday-Friday 330 Grubert Avenue, Staunton, VA 24401 Breakfast 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Lunch 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Adults may enjoy the same meal for $3 (cash only) at the A. R. Ware Elementary School location only.
  • Waterford Village Apartments — Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 61 Waterford Loop, Staunton, VA 24401 Lunch 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Beginning June 4 Through July 27 (no meal service July 4, 2018)
The following site is a closed site open to camp attendees only – this site will not be open to the public.

  • Staunton-Augusta YMCA Pre-K Summer Camp — Monday-Friday North Coalter Street, Staunton, VA 24401 Breakfast 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., Lunch 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
