Staunton: NAACP announces Oct. 7 forum for City Council, School Board candidates

The Staunton branch of the NAACP will be hosting a forum for candidates running for Staunton City Council and the Staunton School Board.

The candidates forum is set to take place on Monday, Oct. 7, beginning at 7 p.m., at Blackfriars Playhouse in Downtown Staunton.

The event will be live-streamed.

Tony Davenport, chief probation and parole officer for District 12 of the Virginia Department of Corrections, will serve as the moderator.

All five candidates for seats on City Council – Adam Campbell, Dan Gunnells, Jeff Overholtzer, Corrie Park and Blake Shepherd – and the three candidates for seats on the School Board – Joann Jeter, Michelle Kiety and Ron Ramsey – are slated to take part.
