Staunton man arrested for bank robbery

policecar3On Monday at approximately 9:15 a.m., officers responded to First Bank & Trust, 1563 Commerce Road, Staunton, for a report of a robbery.

Bank employees reported that an older white male, wearing a white shirt and jeans entered the business and requested a large amount of money from a teller. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and then left the bank on foot.

Responding officers located a subject matching the description near the scene. Jackie W. Jones, 69, no fixed address was arrested on one count of robbery and incarcerated at the Middle River Regional Jail.
