Staunton: City schedules for the Thanksgiving holiday

staunton virginiaThe City of Staunton’s administrative offices and the Staunton Public Library will be closed and pickup dates for trash and recycled items have been rescheduled as the city observes Thanksgiving on Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23.

Trash & Recycling Pickup

  • Residential: Residential trash regularly scheduled for pickup on Nov. 22 and 23, will instead be collected on Wednesday, Nov. 21. Recycled items will not be collected Nov. 22-24. The regular recycling schedule will resume the following week. Residents may drop off items for recycling at Staunton’s remote recycling center, located in the football stadium parking lot at Gypsy Hill Park. The center is open seven days a week during park hours (4 a.m. to 11 p.m.).
  • Downtown Central Business District (CBD): CBD customers will receive trash collection on Wednesday, Nov. 21, and Saturday, Nov. 24 as scheduled.

Library Hours

The Staunton Public Library will close at 5 p.m., Nov. 21 and remain closed through Nov. 23. The library will reopen with regular operating hours on Nov. 24.

Digital collections and online services will be available during the holiday weekend, and the outdoor book drop will be open for returns.
