staunton2editsStaunton City Councilman Ophie Kier has received two appointments from the Virginia Municipal League (VML). The appointments were made by Edwin C. Daley, president of VML.

Daley recently announced Kier’s appointment as chair of the VML Community & Economic Development Policy Committee, on which Kier has served previously as a member. Kier’s appointment to VML’s Legislative Committee was also announced. Both committees consider public policy issues of concern to local governments in Virginia.

VML is a statewide, nonprofit, nonpartisan association of city, town and county governments established in 1905 to improve and assist local governments through legislative advocacy, research, education and other services.
