staunton augusta art centerThe Armored Ankylosaurus/Texture class for ages 6-10ish, postponed from March 7 due to snow and ice, will now take place this Saturday, April 11.

We will be using the armor of the Ankylosaurus as the inspiration for our own dinosaur creations while learning about inventing textures.  Students will mold dinosaur sculptures out of foam clay and then add textures using materials such as shells, feathers, sequins, gems, felt, tiles, pebbles, and paper. Through this activity, students will learn about the methods of incorporating texture in artwork.

The class will be held 10:30Noon in the R.R. Smith Center for History and Art at 20 S. New Street in historic downtown Staunton.

Pre-registration is required in advance by calling the Staunton Augusta Art Center at540-885-2028.  The cost per class is $15 for non-members and $13 for members.  All materials are included.
