State Police investigate fatal crash in Augusta County

At 6:45 a.m., Virginia State Police Sr. Trooper J.G. O’Gorek was called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Route 262, between Routes 252 and 254, in Augusta County on Monday (August 19, 2013).

A 2008 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling north on Route 262 when it crossed the centerline and struck a southbound 2011 Chevrolet Sierra pickup truck. The impact of the crash caused the pickup truck to overturn onto its side.

The driver of the Equinox, James M. Bibb, 23, of Barboursville, Va., died at the scene.

The driver of the Sierra pickup truck, John D. Seale Jr., 56, of Millboro, Va., died at the scene.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation at this time.
