Update in shooting under investigation in Waynesboro

Update: Monday, 4:46 p.m. Waynesboro Police have identified two people in custody in connection with a reported shooting in Waynesboro on Sunday.

The driver of the silver Dodge Charger that fled the scene has been identified as Ailem Rosales-Rodriguez, a 25-year-old resident of Harrisonburg,. Rosales-Rodriguez was charged with felony eluding and an an unrelated outstanding warrant for distribution of marijuana.

Rosales-Rodrigues is currently being held at Middle River Regional Jail without bond.

Dionte Conrad Barbour, a 29-year-old male, was arrested on several charges related to this investigation. Barbour was identified as one of the suspects that bailed out of the silver Dodge Charger. After a foot pursuit and a search of the 200 block of Henry Avenue, Barbour was discovered inside a shed he allegedly broke into to hide from pursuing officers.

Barbour falsely identified himself to officers after his arrest. Officers also discovered Barbour had multiple active warrants for his arrest unrelated to the Grayson Ave incident.

 

First report: Sunday, 6:12 p.m. A shooting reported in the 800 block of Grayson Avenue in Waynesboro sent a victim to UVA Medical Center on Sunday.

Waynesboro Police pursued a silver Dodge Charger reportedly involved in the shooting, and after multiple people bailed out of the vehicle, gave chase.

Per a release from the PD, multiple people are detained for possible involvement in this incident.

This incident is currently under investigation.
