ShenanArts presents The Miracle Worker

Contributors

ShenanArts will be presenting The Miracle Worker written by William Gibson and directed by Barbara Ferguson.

The Miracle Worker is the inspiring and unforgettable play based on the true story of Helen Keller and her teacher Anne Sullivan.  The Miracle Worker has moved countless audiences – becoming an American classic.

Rachel Dixon brings her skills and talent to the ShenanArts stage once again in role of Anne Sullivan.   Dixon’s performance is an emotional earthquake with all the power to wrench the heart and provide a deep understanding of the human spirit that lies beyond what we hear and see. This is a play that will make you feel. In a word it is “wonderful”.

Helen Keller s superbly performed by Julia Dixon and Riesling Sullivan. Watching these young actors portray Helen Keller is like watching a flower bloom. Despite overwhelming odds, tremendous resistance,  and  a dogged stubbornness a  miracle unfolds that brings  a young deaf, blind and mute girl into the world.

The Miracle Worker is strongly supported by veteran actors Hank Fitzgerald (Capt. Keller) and Ash White (Katie Keller) both bringing their own special brand of truth and daring to the stage.

Show dates and times are Friday and Saturday, Nov. 1-2, at 7 p.m. and a Sunday matinee Nov. 3 at 3 p.m.  The show continues the following Friday and Saturday, Nov. 8-9, at 7 p.m. and the final show on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 3 p.m.
