Self Defense Program at Timberville Broadway Senior Center

Contributors

tbsc-self defenseDeputy Mike Washington, with the Rockingham County Sheriff’s office, presented a self defense program to Timberville Broadway Senior Center and Price Rotary Senior Center on Wednesday, Aug 21.

Fifteen members of TBSC and PRSC took the opportunity to hear Deputy Washington and learn ways to keep themselves safe. Deputy Washington spoke about being aware of your surroundings, locking your doors and using common sense when being out. He also spoke about how keys or a purse can be used as a defensive tactic in order to buy time to get away.

Deputy Washington was very fun, informative and related exceptionally well to the members. We look forward to having him come back for a follow up presentation.
