Science on Tap returns to the Science Museum of Virginia

Richmond’s most unique craft beer festival, Science on Tap, returns to the Science Museum of Virginia on Saturday, May 7.

Promising to fill cups with local brews and savory science, the outdoor festival educates beer aficionados and novices alike on the chemistry of a perfect beer. The all-ages event includes live music from Common Wealth and the Forest Hill Trio, food trucks and a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into creating a signature draft.

“Science on Tap will debut five special beers crafted exclusively for the festival, in addition to serving up the favorites we all know and love from 10 breweries,” says Sarah Zalesiak, Emerging Leaders Council, Science Museum of Virginia. “We’ll also be handing out signature pint glasses to festival goers while supplies last as a way to commemorate the day.”

Attendees are invited to uncover the brewing process with James River Homebrewers, get hands-on with beer ingredients alongside experts at Original Gravity and discover the buzz behind Black Heath Meadery. Science on Tap lets folks taste locally brewed beer, ask brewing experts questions and learn about the science behind our favorite drinks all in one spot.

Guests can purchase beverages from local favorites including: Ardent Craft Ales, Bold Rock Hard Cider, Hardywood Park Craft Brewery, Legend Brewing Company, Midnight Brewery, Old Bust Head Brewing Company, Steam Bell Beer Works, Strangeways Brewing, Starr Hill Brewery and Triple Crossing Brewing Company.

Science on Tap festival admission is $10 for guests 12+. Children under 12 are admitted free with adult ticket purchase. Museum exhibit admission is not included with festival admission.
