Scherzer pitches Nationals to 9-2 win at Miami

washington nationalsMax Scherzer struck out a modest eight in eight innings of work in a 9-2 Washington Nationals win at Miami on Sunday.

Scherzer (5-3, 3.80 ERA) allowed two runs on six hits in the outing for the Nats (27-17).

Leadoff man Ben Revere was 3-for-5 at the plate with two RBI and two runs scored. Anthony Rendon was 2-for-4 with a double, triple and three RBI.

Wilson Ramos also had two hits for Washington, which went 4-2 on its weeklong NL East road trip.
