Scherzer dominant in 7-2 Washington Nationals win

washington nationalsMax Scherzer struck out 11 in eight innings in a 7-2 Washington Nationals win in Philadelphia Wednesday night.

The Nats (33-21) completed a three-game sweep with the win over the Phillies (26-27).

Scherzer (6-4, 3.87 ERA) gave up two runs on five hits.

Wilson Ramos (7) and Danny Espinosa (7) each homered in a four-run Washington sixth that broke open a close game.

Ryan Zimmerman was 2-for-4 with an RBI double and a sacrifice fly.

Daniel Murphy was 1-for-4 with two runs scored.

The Nationals have an off-day Thursday before starting a three-game series at Cincinnati on Friday.
