Saturday start for UVa.-Georgia Tech baseball moved to 12 noon

AFP

uva-gtThe first pitch for the Saturday (May 10) game of the UVa.-Georgia Tech baseball series at Davenport Field has been moved to noon. The game originally was scheduled to begin at 4 p.m., but a threat for inclement weather has prompted the change.

ACC game-management protocol stresses that every effort should be made to complete all three games in a conference series. With a possibility for inclement weather Saturday, this change will give the teams the best opportunity to play the complete game Saturday.

Fans with tickets for the Saturday game that cannot attend because of the new start time may exchange their tickets in advance for a General Admission ticket to one of the final two regular-season games (Sunday vs. Georgia Tech, Tuesday vs. VCU). Fans can exchange their tickets by calling the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office at (800) 542-8821 during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or bringing their tickets to the gate for General Admission seating at any remaining regular season home game, subject to seat availability at the time of arrival.

Customers may purchase tickets by logging on to VirginiaSports.com. Tickets will also be sold at the Davenport Field ticket windows beginning two hours prior to each home game.

Free parking will be available in the University Hall, John Paul Jones Arena and McCue parking lots as well as the Emmet-Ivy Garage.

Fans may text UVABASE to 79516 to subscribe to alerts about Virginia baseball schedule changes and game updates because of inclement weather. Standard text message rates for your individual mobile plan apply. To cancel enrollment, text STOP to 79516.
