uva womens basketballVirginia women’s basketball head coach Joanne Boyle announced on Monday (April 6) that senior Sarah Imovbioh (Abuja, Nigeria) and sophomore Tiffany Suarez (Miami, Fla.) will not return to the program next season.

“I want to thank Sarah and Tiffany for their contributions to the Virginia program and wish them both luck in their future endeavors,” Boyle said.

Imovbioh, who will be earning her undergraduate degree in May, will have the opportunity to turn professional or transfer to another school where she would be eligible to play one season as a graduate student. The 6-2 center started every game last season for the Cavaliers, averaging 12.6 points and 10.8 rebounds per game.

Suarez has requested and received her release to transfer to another institution. The 5-11 guard has appeared in 50 games in her two seasons at Virginia, making five starts, averaging 2.3 points and 0.9 rebounds.
