Salem Red Sox offers Tickets for Troops

Contributors

salem red soxThe Salem Red Sox will be undergoing a season-long effort to provide tickets for veterans and families of servicemen and women. All season long, fans will have the opportunity to purchase their own tickets, and donate additional tickets to military members in the Salem area.

For a $5 donation for each ticket, fans can provide military members and their families the opportunity to come to LewisGale Field for the Red Sox Military Appreciation Night on August 27th. This $5 ticket is the Red Sox most affordable ticket offered and is used to support members of our armed forces in Salem and the Roanoke Valley.

In partnering with the Military Family Services Center (MFSC) of Salem, the Red Sox are helping accomplish their goal. According to their website, the MFSC “believes that any war fighter should be secure in the knowledge that while they are defending the nation or training to do so, whether domestically or abroad, their family is supported and provided for at home.”

In the Tickets for Troops campaign during the 2015 season, the Red Sox fans donated more than 750 tickets for veterans and active duty military and families to come out to Military Appreciation Night at LewisGale Field.

More information about the goals and efforts of the Military Family Services Center can be found on their website at milfamily.org/.

Those interested in contributing to Tickets for Troops with the Red Sox can call the front office at (540) 389-3333 or visit the “Community/Special Events” page on the Salem Red Sox website. Once on the Ticket for Troops page on the Red Sox website, fans will be able to complete a form to donate tickets to Tickets for Troops with the purchase of their regular priced tickets.
