Route 684 in Craigsville area closed March 19-21

road-work-headerPart of Route 684 (Little River Road) near the town of Craigsville in Augusta County will be closed to through traffic March 19-21, 2015 for slope repair work. The closure is located between Route 685 (Lehigh Road) and Route 683 (Bashaw Road).

Beginning the morning of Thursday, March 19, motorists on Route 684 will be directed onto one of the following detour routes:

  • Southbound traffic will turn left on Route 685; left on Route 42 (Craig Street); left on Route 687 (Hidy Street and Railroad Avenue); and left on Route 683 back to Route 684.
  • Northbound traffic will turn left on Route 683; right on Route 687 (Railroad Avenue and Hidy Street); right on Route 42 (Craig Street); and right on Route 685 back to Route 684.

Local traffic can access properties along Route 684 by entering from the appropriate side of the work zone. All work is weather permitting.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.

Traffic alerts and traveler information can be obtained by dialing 511 and at 511Virginia.org. For other assistance call the VDOT Customer Service Center 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Citizens can dial 1-800-FOR- ROAD (1-800-367-7623) from anywhere in the state to report road hazards, ask transportation questions, or get information related to Virginia’s roads.
