The Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA shared a progress update on its groundbreaking initiative Home for the Holidays: 400 Adoptions in 40 Days.

In November, the RHSPCA launched this ambitious campaign with the goal of finding loving homes for 400 pets in just 40 days. Thanks to the incredible support of the community, the organization is halfway to its goal, with 200 animals already placed in adoptive homes.

“It’s been incredible to see 200 animals go home to their new families,” said RHSPCA Executive Director Huck Nawaz. “It will take a lot of effort, but we’re committed to seeing another 200 animals get to experience the holidays with a loving family.”

To make adoption more accessible and to encourage more families to open their hearts and homes, the RHSPCA is offering “Name Your Price” adoptions for adult dogs, adult cats, and kittens until December 17, 2024.

“By offering ‘Name Your Price’ adoptions, we make obtaining a pet accessible to everyone while maintaining our stringent adoption screening requirements,” Aaron Cleveland, RHSPCA’s Director of Engagement, said. “We hope to see families light up with holiday cheer when they bring their furry family member Home for the Holidays.” he added.

All interested adopters are encouraged to visit the RHSPCA to meet the animals or browse available pets online. The RHSPCA is at 2170 Old Furnace Rd, Harrisonburg.
