Richmond Raiders sign former Virginia Tech star Davon Morgan

RichmondRaidersThe Richmond Raiders announced the signing of former second-team All-ACC safety Davon Morgan for the 2013 season.

Morgan started every game his last two years at Tech and was named second team All-ACC as a senior in 2010 after notching five interceptions and finishing second on the team in tackles.

The Varina High School alum was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New York Jets. Unable to participate in team activities due to the NFL lockout, he was released and moved back to Richmond where he still works as an in-home youth counselor.

The Raiders’ 2013 season will start March 16 when the Raiders take on the Charlotte Speed at the Richmond Coliseum.
