Richmond Police investigating shooting in Shockoe Bottom that left one man dead

A Henrico man is dead after an argument broke out among several individuals in a parking lot in Shockoe Bottom on Sunday morning, leading to multiple shots being fired.

Richmond Police reported that Shamar Trimmer, 29, of Henrico, died at a local hospital after the shooting in the 1800 block of East Main Street, which was reported at 3:30 a.m. o Sunday.

Virginia State Police troopers were first on scene and, with assistance of RPD officers, provided first aid before the victim was transported to the hospital.

Anyone with information about this death investigation is asked to call Major Crimes Detective A. Sleem at (804) 814-7123 or contact Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.
