Richmond, in its 64-58 loss at George Mason on Wednesday, suffered a body blow with another loss, of leading scorer DeLonnie Hunt.

Hunt will be out for eight weeks with a broken left foot, UR Athletics announced on Friday.

Eight weeks would mean Hunt, who is averaging 16.8 points per game, wouldn’t be ready to return until the A-10 Tournament.

Hunt is Richmond’s sole returning starter from last year’s team that won the program’s first A-10 regular-season championship.

The season ended with a thud, with the Spiders getting bounced out of the A-10 Tournament in a quarterfinal upset by St. Joe’s, and then losing in a first-round NIT game at Virginia Tech.

Richmond has struggled out of the gate in the 2024-2025 season. The loss at Mason dropped the Spiders to a 7-9 mark, and they’re currently at 247 in the NET.
