ur-spiders1Richmond forward Alonzo Nelson-Ododa will be out indefinitely after he undergoes surgery on Tuesday morning.

The surgery will be to repair a fractured bone around Nelson-Ododa’s right eye. He was injured in the first half of Richmond’s game against Rhode Island on Sunday after he received an elbow to the face going for a rebound.

The junior was also diagnosed with a concussion on Sunday night at the hospital.

Before leaving Sunday’s game, he had grabbed one rebound in four minutes. Nelson-Ododa was averaging 7.0 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game.

He ranks sixth in the Atlantic 10 with 1.6 blocks per game and is third all-time with 176 career blocks.
