Also on the show is my old buddy “That would be” Buddy Thomas. I’ve asked Buddy to do a “Sad Original” and a “Funny Original”…. Buddy is a great songwriter and talent. He’s also going to do a tribute to “Someone”… I’ll find out when I get there.
I usually feature a dancer on the show. I’ve have tap dancers, cloggers, modern dancers. This month I’m having Arrow Kilbourn on the show. Arrow is a “Hooper”… Yes, a Hula Hooper. I run sound for Jazz in the Park in Staunton every summer and I’d always see “the hula hoop girl” hooping to the bands. I finally found the Hula Hoop Girl, and she’s going to be on the show doing some single and double hooping. She said she could do Fire Hooping but I told her the Gateway didn’t have enough liability insurance.
Bill Martin is back as co-host. He missed missed the last show because he was busy acting in a Shenanarts production of “A Few Good Men”. Bill played the Jack Nicholson role in the show. I’m thinking I’ll give a few audience members a chance to look at Bill and say “Colonel Jessup….did you order the code red?” and I’ll let Bill respond with “You can’t handle the truth.”
There’s a segment on the show called “You can sound like a cat”. We’ve got some really good cat impressions over the last six months. This month the segment takes on a seasonal theme and will be called “You can sound like your Favorite Thanksgiving Bird. I’m guessing there will be lots of Turkey and Chicken Calls.
It should be a fun show as always. Show starts at 7:30 and runs until around 9:15. There is an intermission. Food and Beverages are at the concession stand.
$9.99 is the entrance fee. Hope to see you there.
