Report: UVA Football planning to allow players on Grounds for workouts on July 5

Chris Graham

uva footballJerryRatcliffe.com is reporting tonight that, according to sources, UVA football players will be allowed to return to Grounds for voluntary workouts on July 5.

Many schools are allowing athletes to return this week, including Virginia Tech, which announced on Monday its plans to open its facilities and practice fields for voluntary football strength and conditioning workouts.

That suggests that the holdup at UVA isn’t anything having to do with state guidelines, but rather the university and the athletics department.

UVA is scheduled to open its 2020 season on Sept. 7 against Georgia in Atlanta.
