Report: Cornstocks up, soybeans, wheat stocks down in Virginia

farm-droughtThe Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services announced Wednesday that Virginia cornstocks stored in off-farm facilities on March 1, 2015, totaled 9.87 million bushels, compared to 7.85 million bushels stored off-farm on March 1, 2014. This is from surveys conducted by USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.

Virginia soybean stocks stored off the farm totaled 1.73 million bushels on March 1, 2015, compared to 2.06 million bushels stored off farm during the same period last year.

Virginia all wheat stocks stored off the farm totaled 3.76 million bushels on March 1 this year, compared to 6.29 million bushels stored off the farm a year earlier.

Nationally, corn stocks stored off the farm totaled 3.36 billion bushels, up 7 percent from a year ago. Soybean off-farm stocks totaled 725 million bushels, up 18 percent from last March. All off-farm wheat stocks totaled 846 million bushels, up three percent from a year ago.
