Brad Brownell and Clemson are reportedly working on an extension that will give Brownell another raise.

Brownell just signed an extension a year ago raising his annual total compensation to $4 million per year, after he led the Tigers from the bubble to a surprise Elite Eight run.

Brownell is 292-195 in 15 seasons at Clemson.

He endured a run of will they or won’t they? seasons in the mid-2010s when it looked like Clemson might cut bait on him.

Brownell only had one NCAA Tournament appearance in his first seven seasons at the school, and his teams from 2014-2017 went just 16-15, 17-14 and 17-16.

His 2017-2018 team made a run to the Sweet Sixteen and finished with a 25-10 mark, and his last two teams have the Elite Eight appearance and a 27-win mark this year heading into the NCAA Tournament.

Just me speaking here, but Brownell, to me, is the best do more with less coach in America, and if it was up to me, and if Brownell were to be known to be available, he would have been at the top of my list in the UVA Basketball coach search.
