Another study in Waynesboro – like we need one of those.
But maybe we do. We haven’t followed the advice of any of the other studies, but eventually we have to get one right, right?
We can hope as much as we head into tonight’s downtown visioning session – which is being sponsored by the City of Waynesboro, the Waynesboro Redevelopment and Housing Authority and Waynesboro Downtown Development Inc.
The visioning session will go from 7-9 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at the Charles T. Yancey Municipal Building, 503 W. Main St.
The meeting is being conducted by the Richmond-based Clay Christensen Group.
Where it will do us some good locally is if we can get more than the chorus that already wants to get things moving forward downtown to the meeting.
The only way Waynesboro gets moving forward is if the close-to-the-vest libertarians and the progress-minded centrists here in town realize that they’re going to have to come to a consensus on things.
Twenty-five years of futility in that respect suggest that such is easier said than done.
Maybe we can break a chunk of ice off the glacier tonight.
