Ralph Northam on OneVirginia2021’s new redistricting reform documentary

Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam released the following statement after appearing in the OneVirginia2021 redistricting documentary.

“I was proud to join former Governors Allen, Kaine, and Warner, along with Governor McAuliffe, Senator Vogel, Delegate Plum, and former Senators Watkins and Alexander to advocate for fair, non-partisan redistricting in the OneVirginia2021 documentary now airing across the Commonwealth.

As a State Senator, I consistently co-sponsored and voted for legislation that would result in a fair, transparent, and non-partisan redistricting process. After all, voters should be selecting their representatives, not the other way around.

I encourage the General Assembly to thoughtfully consider the non-partisan redistricting legislation that will be introduced for the 2017 Session. The time has come, and it is important that members of the General Assembly work together to pass non-partisan redistricting reform.”
