PPP poll: Early voting in North Carolina favors Clinton

public-policy-polling-2A new Public Policy Polling survey in North Carolina shows early voting there is favoring Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Clinton leads Republican Donald Trump, 63 percent to 37 percent, with Libertarian Gary Johnson getting less than half a percent.

The governor’s race shows a similar Democratic enthusiasm advantage, with Democrat Roy Cooper leading Republican Pat McCrory 61 percent to 33 percent.

Early voting in the Senate race also favors Democrat Deborah Ross, who leads Republican Richard Burr, 52 percent to 34 percent, with Libertarian Sean Haugh at 7 percent.

Overall, PPP has Clinton with a slight lead among all North Carolina voters, 47 percent to 44 percent for Trump and 4 percent for Johnson.

Cooper has a modest 46 percent to 44 percent lead on McCrory in the governor’s race, and Burr leads Ross 42 percent to 41 percent.
