A new national poll of Democratic voters by Public Policy Polling has Hillary Clinton with a strong lead over Bernie Sanders.
Clinton, the former Secretary of State, New York U.S. senator and First Lady, was at 55 percent in the poll, with Sanders, a Vermont U.S. senator, at 20 percent.
Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley was a distant, distant third at 4 percent, with former Virginia U.S. Sen. Jim Webb at 3 percent.
The poll has Clinton’s net favorable rating at its lowest point to date, but still solid at 63 percent favorable/26 percent unfavorable. Sanders has improved on that measure, up from a 42/26 split in July to 49/21 in the new poll.
