Podcast: WWE Extreme Rules review, more Rise and Demise of AWE

Chris Graham

wrestling-ring2CGI host Chris Graham brings back wrestling promoter Doug Ward to review the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view. Then Graham and Ward return to the oral history of Awesome Wrestling Entertainment, a company that Ward founded in 2010, and with Graham on board in 2011 produced a live pay-per-view legends wrestling show broadcast across the United States and Canada.

This week’s podcast in the Rise and Demise of AWE series traces the early history of Awesome Wrestling Entertainment, from the phone call that launched the company, the early efforts to put together a tour of China, the origins of the feud between Kevin Nash and Ricky Morton that drew mainstream attention to the company, the massive growth of interest in the AWE product on social media, and the fateful decision to go the pay-per-view route.
