Podcast: CGI talks TNA, Jeff Jarrett, WWE, more from the world of pro wrestling

Chris Graham

wrestling-ring2CGI host Chris Graham and wrestling industry veteran Doug Ward talk pro wrestling.

This week’s podcast begins with a look at the recent state of affairs in TNA, which has suffered a decline in TV ratings in recent weeks on its new home on Destination America. Is that another sign that Nashville is at the beginning of the end of its long run?

The focus shifts to Jeff Jarrett and his efforts to get Global Force Wrestling off the ground. The guys analyze the moves announced last week that have the company committing to three TV tapings without having yet secured a broadcast partner, and without having yet announced a top-level star that GFW could build around. Is JJ hiding an ace up his sleeve, or is he about to lose his shirt?

The show wraps with more from the Rise and Demise of AWE series, a look back at the year that Ward and Graham spent working together on the little indy that could, Awesome Wrestling Entertainment, the only company outside of WWE, TNA and ECW to put on a live broadcast In Demand pay-per-view. Learn more about the ins and outs of building a TV wrestling company from the ground up, and how it can all come tumbling down in an instant.
