road work transportationRoute 230 (Wolftown-Hood Road) in Madison County will be closed to through traffic between Wolftown and Route 29 (S. Seminole Trail) overnight Wednesday and Thursday while a pipe underneath the road is replaced. The recent heavy rains and flooding have eroded fill material and caused the roadway shoulders to become unstable around the pipe.

During the closure, between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m., motorists will be detoured around the closure using Route 663 (Wills Road) and Route 662 (Shelby Road). Signs have been posted alerting drivers to the closure and the detour route will be posted. In the event of rain on Wednesday night the closure will be postponed until Thursday and Friday nights.

Drivers should check www.511virginia.org or the 511 mobile app for current traffic, travel and weather information and follow @VaDOTCULP on Twitter for updates.
