ur-spiders1Center Luke Piotrowski will transfer from the University of Richmond, head coach Chris Mooney announced on Monday.

The 6-foot-11 center was a redshirt freshman this past season, when he played in six games for the Spiders. Piotrowski choose Richmond over Arizona State, Boston University and Oregon State.

“I’m going to miss Richmond a lot, I really did love it there” Piotrowski said. “I had a great relationship with Coach Mooney and the rest of the staff and I really am grateful for everything they’ve done for me for the past two years.”

“Luke is a terrific kid and has been an outstanding teammate in his time with us,” Mooney said. “Everyone in the program wishes him the best of success moving forward.”

The Spiders return eight of their top 10 scorers, including a young and talented frontcourt featuring just one upperclassman.
