Part of Route 876 in Augusta County closed May 23-June 3 for road work

road-work-headerA portion of Route 876 (Swoope Road) in Augusta County is scheduled to close for a box culvert replacement from Monday, May 23, to Friday, June 3. The closure is between Route 860 (Waldrop Road) and Route 703 (Hewitt Road).

The following detours will be in place 24 hours a day until work has been completed:

  • Drivers traveling south on Route 876 will turn right on Route 860, left onto Route 703, and then left to return to Swoope Road.
  • Drivers traveling north on Route 876 will turn left on Route 703, right onto Route 860, and then right to return to Swoope Road.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.

For other assistance call the VDOT Customer Service Center, available 24 hours-a-day, seven days a week. Citizens can dial 1-800-FOR- ROAD (1-800-367-7623) from anywhere in the state to report road hazards, ask transportation questions, or get information related to Virginia’s roads.
