Part of Route 60 in Rockbridge County to close for road work on Aug. 11

vdot-logoThe Virginia Department of Transportation will close a portion of Route 60 near the city limits of Buena Vista between Ridge Avenue and Green Forest Avenue for a culvert replacement. Work will begin at 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, and run through 10 a.m., Friday, August 12.

While the work zone is in Rockbridge County, a detour will be in place in Amherst County from Route 60 to Route 635 (Buffalo Springs Turnpike) for approximately 10 miles to Route 130/501 for approximately 24 miles, then back to Route 60 in Buena Vista.

All work is weather permitting.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.

For other assistance call the VDOT Customer Service Center, available 24 hours-a-day, seven days a week. Citizens can dial 1-800-FOR- ROAD (1-800-367-7623) from anywhere in the state to report road hazards, ask transportation questions, or get information related to Virginia’s roads.
