Part of Route 650 in Rockingham County closing Aug. 8 for bridge work

road work transportationPart of Route 650 (Power Dam Road) in Rockingham County will close for about two months for replacement of a bridge over Stony Run. This closure is between Route 649 (Island Ford Road) and Route 650 (Three Springs Road) from Wednesday, August 8, through Wednesday, October 10. All work is weather permitting.

These detours will be in place for through traffic:

  • Drivers south of the bridge continue straight on Route 650 as it becomes Route 651 (Power Dam Road), then turn right on Route 843 (Cemetery Road), right on Route 641 (Cave Hill Road), right on Route 991 (Jacob Burner Drive) and right on Route 649 to return to Route 650.
  • Drivers north of the bridge turn left on Route 649, left on Route 991 (Jacob Burner Drive), left on Route 641 (Cave Hill Road), left on Route 843 (Cemetery Road) and then left on Route 651 (Power Dam Road), which becomes Route 650 (Power Dam Road).
