Overnight lane closures on southbound Interstate 81 in Rockbridge County start Sept. 9

interstate 81Milling and paving operations are scheduled for about five weeks beginning Sunday, September 9, on southbound Interstate 81 in Rockbridge County. The work takes place from mile marker 200 and 197 between Fairfield and Lexington. It requires alternating lane closures during overnight hours, 8 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights.

These operations are scheduled for completion by mid-October. All work is weather permitting.
