Orioles starter Ubaldo Jimenez pitched his tail off, but John Danks was just a tad bit better, and the Chicago White Sox walked away Friday night with the 1-0 victory.
Jimenez (7-4) made one mistake, a third-inning homer to Jose Abreu on an 0-2 fastball. That made it 1-0 Sox, and Danks (4-8) would make it hold up.
Danks gave up five hits in seven scoreless innings, allowing five hits, striking out five and walking two.
David Robertson notched his 17th save with a perfect ninth in which he struck out the side.
The O’s (42-38) fall to second place in the American League East, a half-game behind the New York Yankees.
