Orioles lose series opener at Oakland, 3-2

baltimore oriolesManny Machado homered for the fourth time in two days, but it wasn’t enough in a 3-2 Orioles loss at Oakland Monday night.

Machado (.307/.365/.563, 26 HR, 69 RBI) hit a solo shot in the eighth. Adam Jones (.274/.319/.457, 21 HR, 64 RBI) was 3-for-4 for Baltimore (63-48), which remains in a tie for first with Toronto (64-49) atop the AL East.

Kevin Gausman (3-9, 4.02 ERA, 1.31 WHIP) took the loss, giving up two runs on six hits in six innings, striking out six and walking two.
