Orioles improve to 7-0, top Red Sox, 9-5

baltimore oriolesJ.J. Hardy hit a pair of two-run homers, and Baltimore won again, defeating the Boston Red Sox, 9-5, on Tuesday, to improve to 7-0.

Mark Trumbo also hit a two-run homer, in the sixth off Red Sox starter Clay Buchholz (0-1).

Hardy’s second blast keyed a four-run seventh that broke the game open for the O’s.

Mike Wright (1-0) got the win for Baltimore on a shaky night on the mound, giving up four runs on five hits in five innings of work, striking out four and walking one.

Trumbo was 3-for-4 at the plate to raise his season batting average to .464.
