Online advance ticket sales begin Aug. 11 for 2014 State Fair

state fairFans of the State Fair of Virginia who want to save time and money can begin buying advance tickets online at StateFairVa.org starting Aug. 11. Online ticket sales will run through Sept. 23.

The price of an advance adult one-day ticket will be $12, a $3 savings over the regular weekend price. Youth and senior online tickets will be $8, a $2 savings over the regular weekend price. Online tickets and those purchased at the gate for use on Monday through Thursday are the same price.

Advance-purchase tickets may be used any one day of the fair’s 10-day run, including on weekends. For those who prefer to purchase tickets in person, ticket sales at fair outlets will begin after Labor Day; outlet locations will be announced later this summer.

This year’s State Fair of Virginia will open Sept. 26 and run through Oct. 5. Information is available at StateFairVa.org.

The State Fair is held each fall at its permanent home at The Meadow Event Park in Caroline County. The fair’s mission is to increase agricultural and natural resource awareness and interest through educational programs, exhibitions and competitions in a fun, family-friendly setting.
