A shooting on Blue Ridge Drive in Harrisonburg on Wednesday left one person with injuries, according to Harrisonburg Police, which is saying the shooting was an “isolated event,” with “no known threat” to the public.

And yet, word from the PD is that they are seeking information from the community about the 1:50 p.m. shooting.

Something doesn’t square there.

The call to 911 reported multiple shots fired in the 1000 block of Blue Ridge Drive. According to a press release, HPD officers arrived in the area and immediately set up a perimeter, asking residents in the area to shelter inside in a safe place in case a suspect remained in the area.

That shelter-in-place order has since been lifted.

Officials were informed shortly after arriving at the scene that one person had arrived at Sentara RMH with a gunshot wound.

HPD has no information to provide regarding the individual’s condition at this time.

Police are asking community members to provide any information available to help in the investigation.

Individuals can call HPD at 540-434-4436 to provide information. Calls can be made anonymously.
