The ODU football program notched it’s fifth win Saturday against UTEP and moved just one win away from qualifying for its first FBS bowl game. With five wins secured, the Monarchs must defeat Southern Miss nextSaturday, Nov. 21, and/or FAU in the season home finale on Nov. 28 to become bowl eligible with the minimum six-win requirement. Bowl selections are announced on Sunday, Dec. 6, beginning at 8:30 p.m. on ESPN.
Conference USA has guaranteed commitments with seven bowl partners for the 2015 season, as well as one secondary agreement: The Arizona, Gildan New Mexico, Miami Beach, Popeyes Bahamas, R+L Carriers New Orleans, St. Petersburg and Zaxby’s Heart of Dallas Bowls are primary agreements. The Independence Bowl in Shreveport, La., is a secondary agreement, should the ACC or SEC not be able to provide a bowl-eligible team. There is no set selection order among C-USA’s bowl partners.
