nTelos Wireline with a new name: Lumos

nTelos Wireline and FiberNet announced today they will become Lumos Networks, concurrent with the separation of the nTelos wireline operations into a new publicly traded company.   nTelos Wireless will retain the nTelos name.

The word “Lumos” is derived from a Latin word for light or illumination and is consistent with the company’s focus to provide leading-edge data communication products over its advanced fiber-optic network. The Lumos Networks logo presents a variety of elements designed to represent light, growth, innovation and energy with a strong focus on fiber.

In announcing the Lumos Networks brand, President and CFO of Lumos Networks Michael B. Moneymaker said, ” This new brand creates a stronger identity for our wireline high-speed data, broadband, voice, and IP services.  We are excited about this change and the opportunities it presents for our customers, the communities we serve and our employees.

Customers will begin to see the new logo on company materials over the next few months.   Customer service, rates and network coverage will not change in connection with this re-branding process.

“We take pride in the fact that at Lumos Networks Our Technology Comes With People.  While our name and look have changed, our guiding principles of doing business, most importantly customer first, have not,” said Moneymaker. “Our mission, values and the people who serve our customers remain the same,” he added.
