Norfolk: Police make arrest in Aug. 16 shooting that left a teen dead

Norfolk Police have arrested a man on a second-degree murder charge in connection with the Aug. 16 shooting on East Virginia Beach Boulevard that left a Norfolk teen dead.

Nasir E. Parker, 21, of Norfolk, has been charged with second-degree murder, two counts of use of a firearm, robbery, and conspiracy.

Police had been called to the 5100 block of East Virginia Beach Boulevard for the report of a gunshot victim. When officers arrived, they found John E. Daughtry III, 18, of Norfolk, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.

Daughtry was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Parker was arrested on Dec. 19, and is currently being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond.
