New Zealand Travelogue “Kia ora!”

AFP

second wind-travelHighland County Second Wind’s great adventure for April was a trip to New Zealand via stories and photos by Roger Canfield and Bernice Eubank.

Roger and Bernice celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in New Zealand this past December.  They experienced both the north and south islands, learning about the white throated Tui, the crimson Pohutukawa, rare freshwater eels, and a bare-foot Santa!

The program was educational, as well as, entertaining for the record crowd in attendance.

To top off the program, New Zealand’s signature dessert, Pavlova, was served.  Pavlova, named for the Russian ballerina, Anna Pavlova, is an exotic creation of meringue shell topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit.  Everybody loved it!
