New running club for girls in Waynesboro

Contributors

new-ymca-logo11Join the Waynesboro YMCA and the Girl Scouts for a new experience – Skyline Runners – a running club for girls and their families. Running combats childhood obesity, promotes pride and goal setting, establishes a life-long healthy habit, and is a fun experience for the whole family in a non-competitive environment.

The Skyline Runners Club is an eight-week program that runs September 10-October 29. The club will meet on Thursdays from6-6:45 PM on the Greenway. The program ends with the group taking on a 5K race. Families are welcome along with girls in Kindergarten – 12th grade. There will be incentives for meeting running goals.

An informational meeting is being held this Thursday at 6 PM at the Waynesboro YMCA. If you can’t make the meeting and want to join the Skyline Runners, then please contact Elisabeth Buckley (540-910-0240 or [email protected]).
